I have been sharing my love of World Dance throughout Montana for over 40 years. I have been fortunate to collaborate with other dancers, musicians, artists, healers, educators, and innovators in an ever-evolving process of creation, performance, healing, and spiritual practice.  I am deeply energized by teaching new movers and choreographing for students and experienced dancers alike.  I love creating playlists for my Soul Free Dance gatherings.  I am a founding member of Yamama! World Music and Dance and a founding member of Bozeman Belly Dance Collective.  With great respect and appreciation, I pass on World Dance and Music imparted to me by my teachers from around the world, honoring the healing, joy, and power that they have brought into our World community.

Shrinking Violet Dance Troup with Tamara Knappenberger

The beguiling sound and rhythms of Middle Eastern music originally drew me to my first dance class back in college. The intention and concentration of each movement required to meet the music in belly dance has kept me studying, performing, teaching, and sharing my love of belly dance since. I have the privilege of studying with many master dancers including Morocco, Tina Sargent, Suzanna Del Vecchio, Tina Giresh, Delilah, Suhaila Salimpor, and Yasmina and Jason of Kismet, among many others.

The Shrinking Violets started as a trio of budding performers and dance sisters. It has lived many lives in Salt Lake, Seattle, Wyoming, and now Montana. The dancers who join the Shrinking Violets are incredible humans who love to dance and take care of each other. They may seem shy at first, but their contagious creativity and bravery always comes bursting through!

Cold Smoke Tribal Dance Troup with Deenya Aliste

I have been dancing most of my life, exploring different styles of dance from modern to ballet to tap. I discovered FatChanceBellyDance® style (formerly known as American Tribal Style®) over 10 years ago. The earthy folkloric style of dance and strong community has inspired me to keep studying, teaching and performing since.

I dance Classic tribal belly dance and tribal belly dance with Skirt, Sword, Fans, and Basket. I earned my General Skills certification from creator and master teacher Carolena Nericcio in 2013. I completed my Teacher Training certification and was granted Partner Studio status in 2014. I have re-certified through the FCBD Partner Studio Continuing Education program from 2014-2020. As a perpetual student, I continue to study with Carolena and other master teachers.
